Lifeguard Training Accelerated Course

At Your Location

Yielding Red Cross certifications for each student passing all curriculum points for Lifeguard Training, CPR-Pro, and Lifeguard First Aid.

One intensive weekend, or spread over a mix of evening time and weekend: Half the time of the standard 4 day course. This is intended for strong swimmers (swim team/water polo member etc.) Challenge test-out for lifeguard certs happens at end of the weekend by a veteran Red Cross Instructor.

6 or 8 participant minimum depending on dates and area. Your group provides the pool (it can be a backyard pool for skills). We will test kids at a nearby standard 25 yard pool for final checks. $185 complete per student, payable in cash, check or credit card. A deposit for your group will be required to hold your training date. Late Spring/Early Summer dates fill quickly.

Course Pre-test ability checkoff:

• Swim 300 yards (12 lengths of a 25 yard pool) without stopping, not timed, which should prove easily doable.
• A timed weight-retrieval drill where you swim 20 yards, do a surface dive to a 10-pound weight in 9 feet deep water, then bring the weight back to pool side. The time limit is 1 minute and 40 seconds, which again is quite generous.
